We are Deana and Matt

We are practitioners first—real estate professionals who have spent years in the trenches helping military families navigate PCS moves, VA loans, and relocation decisions that carry real financial and emotional weight.

We have been directly involved in over 750 real estate transactions personally, majority of them tied to military relocations across multiple duty stations and markets. Beyond production, we previously led a nationwide military real estate organization for agents, where we trained, supported, and guided professionals across the country who serve military clients. That experience gave us a unique, front-row view of what works, what doesn’t, and where the industry consistently falls short.

Our Story

We created Moving the Military because the military community deserves better.

Too many service members make life-changing real estate decisions based on misinformation, rushed timelines, or advice from professionals who don’t fully understand the VA loan or the realities of military life.

At the same time, many well-intentioned real estate agents lack access to consistent, high-quality education that prepares them to serve military clients at the highest level.

Through our work in both production and national leadership, we saw the same problems over and over again: inconsistent standards of service, widespread myths about the VA loan, and a lack of clear, practical guidance for both consumers and agents.

Moving the Military was created to close that gap—by providing a single, trusted place for education, strategy, and leadership in military real estate.

Why We Do It

We do this work because the military benefit matters—and how it’s used can shape a family’s financial future for decades.

Our mission is to raise the standard of service in military real estate by protecting the VA loan, eliminating bad advice, and equipping both service members and agents with the knowledge and confidence to make smarter decisions. We believe every PCS move should be approached with clarity and intention, not confusion or pressure.

This platform is education-first, always free, and open to all. Everything we create is rooted in service, integrity, and accountability—because military families deserve advisors who lead with competence, respect, and care.
